The IN Visible Light Foundation is a new organization that uses art, culture, and education for inner awareness processes. We want to inspire people to discover and shine their inner light, and in doing so, have a positive impact on society. The foundation was established on May 5, 2023, and offers art, culture, and education projects focused on personal growth and development. We want to teach you everything you don’t learn in school, in a creative and inspiring way. We believe that you can make a unique contribution to the world, and that art can support you in this.
To tell you more about our foundation, we would like to introduce you to our founder, Catrien de Boer (formerly Jonker). Catrien is a theatre maker, coach, and teacher with a mission to use art and culture for inner awareness. Catrien has extensive experience giving theatre lessons and workshops to various target groups. She combines her knowledge and skills to help people express themselves, grow, and connect.
Catrien herself went through a deep transformation when she lost her brother to suicide. This set her on a quest for the meaning of life and existence, which led to a spiritual journey. During this journey, she discovered her inner light and decided to follow and share it with others. She founded the foundation as a way to realize her dream of using art, culture, and education for inner awareness processes. She wants to inspire people to discover and shine their inner light, and thus have a positive impact on society.
In addition to Catrien, the foundation’s board consists of Véronique Akkermans, who serves as chair, Fadila van Schie, who serves as treasurer, and Rinze Bijstra, who serves as secretary. They all work on a voluntary basis and do not receive any compensation for their work. They support Catrien in her vision and mission and contribute to the organization and implementation of the foundation’s projects.
Our name “IN Visible Light” has multiple meanings. The first meaning is “Invisible light,” referring to the light that we cannot always see but is certainly present. We focus on making the invisible visible and discovering new possibilities. The second meaning is “In visible light,” which literally and symbolically means taking your place on stage, showing your talents, and stepping into your power. The third meaning is “The light within me,” referring to the connection between your soul and the source of God, which reflects your true essence, potential, talents, and passion.
Our mission is to help people discover and shine this light so they can see and experience themselves and the world in a new way. We do this by using art and culture as powerful tools for transformation, growth, and connection. Our vision is a society in which people dare to show and share their inner light. A society in which people are aware of their own value and that of others, in which diversity is celebrated and creativity is encouraged.
